Leadership Board

The following parties comprise the Board and Management of ZTEST Electronics Inc.

Steve Smith
President/CEO/Chairman

Steve Smith has been a participant in the capital markets for over 35 years. He brings a wealth of expertise in public company leadership, corporate finance, business development, marketing and investor communication.

 

Steve acted in a variety of key roles, in a mixture of initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and equity offerings.

 

Steve has held senior roles in numerous publicly traded technology companies providing guidance and funding resulting in multiple successful acquisitions.  These companies include QHR Technologies Inc., acquired by Loblaws for $170M, and MDI Technologies Inc., acquired by Logibec for $70M. 

 

Steve obtained a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto in 1982. He completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1987.

 

Steve served on the Board of a BC Softball Association for more than twelve years, six of those as President.

 

Michael D. Kindy, BMath, CPA
VP Finance & CFO

Mike is a seasoned executive with proven success in overseeing finance strategy, financial reporting, and operating performance for companies across diverse industries.   A former partner in a Toronto public accounting firm, Mike has amassed almost 30 years expertise providing management and financial consulting to private companies and as chief financial officer of public companies. In addition to his financial reporting acumen and governance insight he has been a key contributor in business financing, business acquisitions, business sales, and reverse takeovers.

 

Mike also serves as a Director of Permatech Electronics Corporation.

William Johnstone LLB
Corporate Secretary/Director

William Johnstone, LLB, has been practising law for over 40 years, focusing on corporate and securities law. He is a partner with Gardiner Roberts LLP in Toronto. He sits on the board of directors of five junior public companies and is the audit committee chair on two of them. Mr. Johnstone also serves as the chair of the ZTEST audit committee.

Dean Tyliakos
Director

Dean Tyliakos is the founder and President of Yellowhead Equipment Finance Ltd which has been in operation since 2012 and the former co-founder and Vice-President of Credit with Patron West Inc.  In addition to serving as President he currently manages the operations of the company, working with existing clients, prospecting new relationships, and maintaining funding and financing partnerships.  In his over 22 years serving small to mid-sized businesses, he was responsible for over $750 million in financed/leased equipment transactions.  Dean has set-up and works with several large funding partnerships including major publicly traded finance Co’s, major Banks and portfolio securitizers.

Dean attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology where he earned a B. Comm (Finance) in 1996. He currently resides in St. Albert, Alberta with his wife and 4 children where he is active coaching hockey.

 

Dean also serves as a Director of Permatech Electronics Corporation

 

Dave Barnett, CFA
Director

Dave brings six years of capital markets experience in investment banking and corporate treasury and seven years of experience in risk management, including expertise in evaluating manufacturing operations, product liability, business continuity analysis and improving efficiencies. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Trevor Treweeke
Director

Mr. Treweeke is a capital markets professional with more than 12 years of experience in advising early-stage and small-cap companies on growth, financing, and corporate strategies. He has been instrumental in over $40 million in capital raises and has provided senior level guidance in CPC formations, go-public transactions, and M&A activities. He additionally serves as a director of Cheelcare Inc. (TSX.V: CHER) and Network Media Group (TSX.V: NTE) and currently advises several issuers on capital markets strategy and corporate development.

 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Treweeke was an analyst with TMX Group, supporting transaction reviews for TSX Venture issuers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Calgary.
